Computer Consultant Convicts Himself

That's what

I know it’s not funny; it’s tragic, and the victim’s family has my deepest condolences. But you’ll forgive me if I LOL at the defendant in this case. Computer Consultant Robert Petrick was convicted Tuesday of first-degree murder in the death of his wife. To begin with, the defendant represented himself, and the results were predictable. And in the most convincing proof yet of the old maxim that a lawyer who represents himself has a fool for a client, the evidence obtained against Petrick came from his own computer, siezed in a search of his home. When police searched his machine, they found Google searches for the words “neck”, “break”, and “snap”, as well as a review of a document entitled “22 Ways to Kill a Man With Your Bare Hands”.

Let’s hope he wasn’t a Computer Security consultant. Read about the unfortunate Mr. Petrick here.
